Steckle Heritage Farm is a heritage designated property owned and operated as a charity providing educational and recreational programs to youth and families within the community. By renting our beautiful bank barn for your event, you are helping us to maintain the facility and continue to offer unique and quality programs to youth in our community.
The beautiful property at Steckle Heritage Farm is comprised of 10.2 acres where the original buildings, barn and crops are located. Our well-lit parking lot is 5 acres of land deeded to us by the City of Kitchener.
Our original bank barn dates back to 1840. It is breathtaking to enter as you look up at the glorious post and beam construction all done with hand hewn logs. The sunlight streams through the barnboard as the sun sets in the west, enhancing the rustic charm of this barn. As it is an original barn, located on a unique HERITAGE DESIGNATED SITE it is not heated or cooled.
Weddings are booked from mid-May to the end of September. Saturday weddings have a minimum of 100 guests, and maximum of 170 seated. Fridays and Sundays are open to your more intimate events, with no minimum guest count needed.
We work exclusively with TWO hand selected caterers that will give you a wide range of culinary options. Bar services must be booked through our caterers, due to insurance and liability. We are so pleased to work with BINGEMANS and LITTLE MUSHROOM CATERING to help make your day one for the history books. All catering and bar services must be provided by one of these two providers.
2019 is fully booked! Saturdays in 2020 are fully booked. Some Sundays and Fridays are still available in select months.
Please Join us for our very informal (totally no pressure) 2019 Wedding Open House on Friday April 26th from 4-7, and Saturday April 27th from 1-4 . Please note that weekend tours are not available at any other time, so if you have a limited schedule as we do, this is your chance to take your time and see the farm! Both Bingemans and Little Mushroom will be here to chat about catering options, and Linnea will be available to do little baby mini tours, answer questions, and help you with your decisions! No need to RSVP, just find a time that works during the open house, and we’ll see you here! 🙂

Please note that we are first and foremost a not for profit educational working farm. Our office staff will always focus on children and families first. All rental fees go directly into the maintenance and operation of the farm by the charity. We are a registered non-profit educational farm focused on providing experiential learning opportunities to families, children and the community. Your support and understanding is appreciated!
