Registration Policies & Requirements

Registration will not be complete without acknowledging our policies and requirements.

In registering and permitting my child to attend Steckle Heritage Farm Day Camp, I, the undersigned parent, guardian or other duly authorized party, hereby agree as follows:

To permit my child to participate in the full range of Agriventure Day Camp activities and authorize the Agriventure Camp Staff, in the event of accident, injury, or illness affecting the above named camper, to authorize on my behalf all medical and other procedures, including admission to hospital and all other necessary treatment, as he/she may deem essential for the care and well being of the said camper. Such action is to be taken only when immediate contact with the undersigned cannot be made.

I am fully aware of the risks and hazards with respect to COVID-19 inherent in the participation of this program at Steckle Heritage Farm.

I have provided all accurate information and have not falsified any records including, but not limited to, age and medication requirements. Failure to provide the aforementioned information may result in my child not being allowed to attend camp.

I understand there are inherent and other risks of injury involved in sporting, recreational, and activities working with animals, I voluntarily accept these risks to my child.

Steckle Heritage Farm has a policy of respect and inclusivity and will not tolerate ANY behaviours that constitute bullying, harassment or violence. In the event of an issue arising, parents will be informed and warning issued. We re-serve the right to send participants home if a second incident arises following the warning.

I understand that refunds will be issued up to two weeks prior only, and will be subject to a 20% processing fee. Following this, refund requests will be made on a case by case basis.

I also understand that photos and/or videos will be taken of camp events. I give permission for my/my child’s image, student work, and performance to be photographed, filmed, audio-taped or videotaped for the purpose using in newsletters, photo galleries, and on our website. At no time will their names or other identifying information be published without your permission.

I understand that late pick-up fees will be issued at the rate of $10 every 15 minutes past the designated pick-up time.

I acknowledge that I (or my child/ward) will not be allowed to participate in the event at Steckle Heritage Farm if:

  • I (or my child/ward) have left the country in the last 14 days.
  • I (or my child/ward) have tested positive for COVID-19 or had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 without wearing appropriate PPE.
  • I (or my child/ward) have any of the following symptoms: fever, new onset of cough, worsening chronic cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, decrease of loss of sense of taste or smell, chills, headaches, unexplained fatigue/malaise/muscle aches (myalgias), nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, abdominal pain, and/or pink eye (conjunctivitis).

Children's Programs

From preschool to teens, we have programs that help children and youth learn essential food skills such as planting, harvesting as well as cooking food from the farm, feeding and caring for farm animals, and developing leadership skills in a hands-on heritage farm environment.

Little Farmers (Ages 2-5)

Seasonal farm activities, garden activities, animal feeding and general care, farm and environment-themed crafts, storytime and more!

Farm Explorers (Ages 6-9)

Explore the farm ecosystem from catching garden critters to growing plants, caring for the farm animals, and cooking in the kitchen!

Rise & Shine (Ages 6-9)

A great program giving kids a chance to learn about animals on the farm, and assist in morning chores and basic animal care.

Summer Camps

Agriventure Summer Camp (Ages 5-12)

Hands-on learning activities include gardening, harvesting produce, playing games, making crafts and learning more about our animals and heritage!

Leaders In Training Program (Ages 13-14)

A great way to develop leadership skills and to gain valuable knowledge and experiences while participating in our summer Agriventure Camp.

Volunteer Junior Leader Program (Ages 15-17)

A fun way to earn your high school volunteer hours and build your resume. Assist with group rotations, provide support to younger campers, plan and run an activity of their choice and more!

Unable to send your child to a program or camp? Need to cancel a party, tour or event? Here’s what you need to know…

Community Tour Booking

  • If you are booking more than one tour, please specify how many guests are in each tour. Please note that we can accommodate a maximum of 60 guests per tour.
  • Please suggest specific dates and start times. Morning tours can start any time between 9:15am-10am, and afternoon tours can start between 12pm-1pm. If your dates are flexible, please also offer back up options.
    In registering and permitting my group to attend a tour at Steckle Heritage Farm, I, the undersigned, hereby agree as follows:

    1. 1. The information I have provided in this form is accurate
    2. 2. I understand that if I am to cancel my tour with less than 15 days notice, I will be issued a $50 cancellation fee
    3. 3. I understand and agree to comply with the COVID-19 protocols listed on the website
    4. 4. I understand that Steckle Heritage Farm is a 'working' farm and that while the staff does everything possible to ensure the safety of the site and program, it is my responsibility to supervise the group at all times while on site
