School Tours

Steckle Heritage Farm offers educators the opportunity to enrich and expand their curriculum in a hands-on and experiential learning environment. We offer tours for preschool through Grade 6 on a seasonal basis (spring & fall).

Discover the exciting ways we can make agriculture, heritage and respect for land and each other come alive. School tours run in September through to the end of October, and May through to the end of June. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. Be sure to schedule your tour well in advance as our spots fill up quickly.

How To Book

Tours are offered in the mornings and afternoons.  We book small groups with a minimum charge of $150.00, to a maximum of 60 children per tour. The cost is $10.00 per student. Teachers and support staff are free of charge. 1 parent volunteer per 6 students is also welcome to join free of charge. Additional adults are welcome, but will be subject to an additional charge of $10.00 per adult.

Children's Programs

From preschool to teens, we have programs that help children and youth learn essential food skills such as planting, harvesting as well as cooking food from the farm, feeding and caring for farm animals, and developing leadership skills in a hands-on heritage farm environment.

Little Farmers (Ages 2-5)

Seasonal farm activities, garden activities, animal feeding and general care, farm and environment-themed crafts, storytime and more!

Farm Explorers (Ages 4-12)

Explore the farm ecosystem from catching garden critters to growing plants, caring for the farm animals, and cooking in the kitchen!

Rise & Shine (Ages 4-12)

A great program giving kids a chance to learn about animals on the farm, and assist in morning chores and basic animal care.

PD Day Camp (Ages 4-12)

Meet our friendly animals, explore the fields, and enjoy some farm-fresh goodness.

March Break Camp

Meet the farm animals, make crafts, explore the gardens, help with chores, and play fun games outside all week long!

Mini Horse Club

We will learn all about mini horses; nutrition, anatomy, grooming, stable management, horsemanship and more.

Summer Camps

Agriventure Summer Camp (Ages 4-12)

Hands-on learning activities include gardening, harvesting produce, playing games, making crafts and learning more about our animals and heritage!

Leaders In Training Program (Ages 13-14)

A great way to develop leadership skills and to gain valuable knowledge and experiences while participating in our summer Agriventure Camp.

Volunteer Junior Leader Program (Ages 15-17)

A fun way to earn your high school volunteer hours and build your resume. Assist with group rotations, provide support to younger campers, plan and run an activity of their choice and more!
