Wedding Rentals
The beautiful property at Steckle Heritage Farm is comprised of 10.2 acres where the original buildings, barn and crops are located.
Our well-lit parking lot is a short 100-meter walk down the path from the barn and will fit up to 65 vehicles happily. The orchard is a picturesque home to our ceremonies, with expansive and well-maintained educational crops just across the walking path.
Our original bank barn dates back to 1840. It is breathtaking to enter, as you look up at the glorious post and beam construction all done with hand-hewn logs. The sunlight streams through the barn board as the sun sets in the west, enhancing the rustic charm of this barn. As it is an original barn, located on a unique Ontario Heritage Site, it is not heated or cooled. The roof is newer and offers a 100% dry space for ceremonies and receptions in cases of inclement weather.
Weddings are booked from May to October. We can accommodate up to 180 seated guests. Fridays and Sundays are open to your more intimate events, with no minimum catering requirement or guest count.
Catering
We work with vetted local Kitchener Waterloo catering companies Bingemans, ChefD, and Edelweiss who give a wide range of culinary options for both small or large weddings. Bar services must be booked through your caterer, due to insurance and liability. We are very excited to work with you to help make your day one for the history books.
Wedding Photography
We welcome all photographers to be a part of your special day. Photos are a great way to capture those special moments that you never want to forget, and we are happy to work with you to facilitate those memories with the photographer of your choice!
We are also excited to recommend a small and amazing bunch of handpicked photographers that know our property inside and out and respect the heritage aspect of our site with integrity. Jess Collins, Zac Jolliffe, Mandy Blake, Devon Crowell, and Timothy Muza are all wonderful and easy to work with, and if you are interested in working with them, please let us know and we can help make the connection!
While viewing the barn between December and March is sometimes possible, as it is our off-season we recommend that you wait to view the location until the worst of winter is past. For safety reasons, tours are sometimes unavailable when large amounts of snow or ice are on the ground.
